People often ask me "How can I get exactly what it is that I want?" They may say: "I have lots of interests", "I have experience in this and that, but I dont know how to help myself get to that point where I am truly able to do what I want, and still be able to pay those pesky bills." On top of that, so many people out there are stuck doing "day jobs", while keeping their dream and passion job for after 5 pm. This does not need to be your forever reality. The only way to escape this vicious cycle is to plan your time carefully and you must be able to tell yourself that I will get to do my dream work during the day and more than pay those bills.
First things first, you need to set yourself some solid, measurable goals. Why do I say solid and measurable? Because without your goals, you have no idea what you are striving for! You are aimlessly going about your day and you will do so with much less enthusiasm than if you knew that you are doing this now because you have this other endpoint in mind.
When you are setting yourself goals, first, be specific. If you just say "I want to work in real estate", thats not very specific and your target will be much less specific. Be as specific as you can possibly be, realizing that the more specific you make your focus, the more likely you are to get THAT SPECIFIC thing. Then, you need to put in place solid actions to get there. You need to schedule those solid actions into your planner and remember to do them daily (or however you have mapped this out). But....YOU HAVE TO HOLD YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE!
Lastly, you need to measure the results often! If what you are doing isnt working, but you keep doing it, nothing is going to change. In fact the very definition of insanity is to continue doing the same thing again and again, expecting different results! So, measure the results you are getting and tweak your actions accordingly.
